Why Play Therapy?
Play is considered a necessity for normal childhood growth and development. Neuroscience research confirms the importance of play for infants in developing children's brains and minds. It has also been shown that exposure to metaphor and symbols, as used in play, has a beneficial effect upon the development of the brain. The process of creativity, imaginativeness, positive effect, emotional expressiveness and physical activity; are all resources for creative solutions to problems (Botkin, 2000).
For these reasons play is the most effective and natural language of expression for children.
