Clinical Supervision

What is Clinical Supervision and why is it important?

Clinical supervision is an important part of professional counselling and therapy, for both trainee and senior practitioners. Supervision provides a space where difficult feelings can be experienced safely, providing space to reflect on possible triggers while exploring possibilities or solutions.

As an experienced Play and Creative Arts therapist, I use supervision to help my own practice with diagnosis, in working with a client whose presenting issue was unfamiliar, exploring issues, or identifying blind spots. I also use supervision to help me try out techniques and be supported in my practice so that I remain safe, ethical, as well as explore further learning opportunities.

Clinical supervision is offered online or in-person. A creative integrative supervision approach is used to supervise, mentor and coach supervisees. I’m interested in relationships, the therapeutic alliance of shared responsibilities, and having shared goals. My supervision aims to enhance the quality and standards of your practice, to advance your learning, stimulate creativity, and support the sustainability and resilience of the practitioner.
