Book Prescription

Books to inspire and heal.

All my life I've been an avid reader, and as a mother I discovered a wealth of resources to help build and strengthen parent child relationships, sharing values and messages of love.

Reading books is proven to be beneficial to our wellbeing, helping us slow down and unwind.

  • Research from Oxford University Press shows reading “challenging language” sends “rocket boosters” to our brains, boosting our mental health.
  • The journal Clinical Psychology & Psychotherapy examined patients with mild depression and found those given a book to read saw an improvement in symptoms.
  • The New School for Social Research in New York found #reading fiction improved the ability to empathise and understand people with different beliefs and desires.

Whatever your situation or mood, books are often the best company. Introducing new ideas, people, places whilst simultaneously helping you explore your feelings.
